So excited for our new polish chicken. Even though she is a girl my 7 year old daughter thought "redfoo" was appropriate for her polish. Haha! Lets see your polish chickens and their names!

I don't have a polish, but I have a sultan, which has a crest and is almost identical to a polish, his name is bubbles!

thanks! he's my lil' darling, with a personality to match! he will willingly sit on my lap, fall asleep, I even let him free range bu himself because he'll come if I clap my hands. No, I didn't even try to train him!!!

Are you serious? How did you get him to be so tame and loving? Im new to chickens, we have 10 pullets but they all scatter when i come in to feed or clean. I would love it if they would sit on my lap and come when i clap my hands! Lol

totally serious!! if I didn't have to post videos to youtube to get them on here i'd show you!!!
It's also the breed you get, sultans are well known for being really friendly! i also spend an average of at least 2+ hours out there if it isn't really cold or really hot. sitting at their level really helps. all chickens (especially leghorns and easter eggers!) are super curious and will come investigate. it helps I often have a lot of goodies for them!

what breed are yours?
They also have to kinda get used to you, but he was that way from 3ish months old, before that he was tame, but not super friendly. I was amazed, him being a rooster, which usually are getting attitudes right about now, (5 months) but the only thing he wants to do is follow me around!!!!!

Wow.....that makes me smile. I am in eager pursuit for my chickens to be my buddies lol. I am outside with them alot too. I agree the easter eggers are super curious. I ended up with an EE roo and had to take him back to the farm :( I was so sad because he was soooo friendly! He would walk right up and hang out at my leg, even eat from my hand. I have 3 RIR,1 RIW, 1 polish,a silkie, a bantam, an easter egger and two buff orpingtons. We have a pretty eclectic bunch, surprisingly, they all get along!

aww, I'd love an EE roo! sadly, I can't find one and all the local stores only have pullets for EE's.

I've got a silkie roo, and surprisingly he isn't very frendly. My neighbor's silkie roo is the most tame 'lil poofball I've ever laid eyes on, though!

I am in high hopes I can tame at least a few of them. I want them to like me! Haha. Here is a picture of the EE roo. I was sad to take him back, he is so sweet!

keep on 'tryin, EE's curiosity often gets the better of them. cracked corn is a chickenkeeper's best friend for taming chickens. that and hunger. LOL
