I don't know. Is it more lucky to be a fabulous dinner, or an emasculated version of your former self? Will he have to start his own thread, too?

Which one, the SOB or the enabler?? :lau

Yep! I sometimes wish mine would tell me No, but he just can't :D

Mine is like that... and adds his own too... it's a scary thing...

I have been thinking about this a lot Walnut. For a hatcher I would go with the STC, flexwatt, computer fan, and celphone wiring for the fan. Having all the gear on the lid has not been an issue. I don't take it off and put it down though, I just lean it up against the wall behind it and on the edge of the bator. So it's never been an issue. It leaves me a lot of room to do what I need to and is super easy to clean out. I do have the window on the front though.

If I had to do all over again. And I may upgrade to this anyway......

I would get a mini fridge or wine cooler, window in the front, flexwatt, STC, and two fans connected to cellphone charger(s). Two egg turners, and try to leave the bottom for hatching if I could get the heat even throughout. If this STC works out the way I'm hoping, then I may build that out over the winter if I can find a minifridge or wine cooler on CL. I believe flaxwatt takes very little power to run.

If the GQF hadn't come my way, I'd have continued the hunt for a wine cooler (gotta have the window!)

Genuine 11" Flexwatt is 20 watts per linear foot, so once I pick my proposed container, I just plop the spot check in there along with a 20 watt light bulb and a computer fan and put it in the nice cool basement to simulate my office in winter.. If I can't maintain 102F (leaves a little room for quicker heating after opening, but not so much as to build a new EZ bake) then I will try a 40 watt bulb.

Once I find the minimum wattage needed to reach and maintain the desired temperature, I will know how many feet of Flexwatt to buy. Since it is sold and used in full foot increments, I will round up and not down.

Finding the Targus laptop cooler at a garage sale was a win...$2 and it has 2 fans and a mini-USB plug.
