One of these just don't belong? So we found this odd colored egg in my coop this morning and I am wondering.....could it be from my pekin baby? She is 22 weeks old and hasn't laid as of yet. All my chickens are brown egg layers.
 
Process of elimination. It isn't a chicken so it must be a duck. If you only have one duck then there is your answer. If you have more than one female of egg laying age that is where the fun comes in! Ducks start laying around 20 weeks.

I just want to make sure it's not a fluke of barely any color that my hens are trying to trick me with! But it was also in my ducks favorite corner of the coop, so that's another thing that makes me think it was hers :)
 



safe to say its definitely a duck egg today!!!! i am so happy that she is laying finally, but sadly the chances of getting a Howard Jr are next to zero
