Well I'm taking my last sandhill birds to auction this week.
I've purchased 150 chicks from them over the last few years and can say none made it to a breeding pen.

This is a blue Cochin from them.

They said the same thing last year about my order...that predators had gotten all of whatever I ordered. I received a $500?? coupon for a future order. The handwriting was bad so I have no idea what the amount was.
If they are consistently getting wiped out, they need to stop breeding and secure their premises.
 
I got a refund check a few days ago for my goslings. They couldn't fill the order, they said that their second pen never produced fertile eggs.

Well I did not get any from them went with another hatchery still trying to find some Iowa blues though.
 
Well I reordered from sandhill. I liked my splash Orpington. I think they have good breed type. Picked in my avatar is a white polish cockerel I got from them. They gave me credit of 50 dollars towards a new order. It is hard ordering from them you don’t know when they will come or what you are getting. But the birds I got I liked so I will throw my hat in the ring.

Did you order from them recently? Today I can't get their website to come up.
 
I did not get any Iowa blues last year.
Today I mailed my order out for 4 Iowa blues (figured 4 was an easy number to fill) and 21 assorted chickens to fill out the order. "made up from any of the breeds of large fowl chicks listed in our catalog. "
Who knows I may like what they send.
