Here are the first 4.

One of these is in the first picture, but I have 3 that are black speckled with white and have downy heads that are more gray. Only one of them is reddish in the comb at this point.

8 of them, same group of black as before. I have 2 white ones like in this picture, both about same level of development.

A naked neck / turken and what is this golden one in the foreground?

This guy/gal looked like a chipmunk when a baby.

I'm pretty sure this one is a guy. I have 2 naked necks and both have red combs at this point and act male.

This is the same golden one from above. I'm hoping it's a girl.

One of my polish

Another one of the 2 that looked like chipmunks when babies but this one has a bit of a tail and the other does not.

Single shot of black w/ white speckles and downy gray head.

I"m thinking this one is a barred rock female

Chipmunk chick without the tail.

Any ideas? This is the heavy mix from McMurray. Not all 16 would hold still for a picture. They all seem to have stocky legs and some are really red-combed. Thanks for any ideas.

At 5 weeks old, it's very safe to say that the ones with bright pink combs are boys. Any bird with a comb that is bright red by about 8 weeks old is male. Pullets don't start to turn red until they are close to being ready to lay eggs, usually about 14 to 18 weeks old.

These are silver laced wyandottes. It looks like you might have a couple gold laced wyandottes too.

Thanks--I'm sorry for so many pictures and they are small. I thought we would be able to click on the photo and get more detail. I was hoping for a buff orpington, so I"m glad to think I have one even if it's a boy

The bared one is not a BPR! I think it is a silver Cuckoo Maran.
Pinkish shanks (BPR have yellow!)
All feathers end with a black bare ( and this is the situation here!) are
Good indicators of sCM! And I think she is a pullet.

I missed that one. Too many photos on a small screen. You are correct. Its a buff Orpington. :)

Agreed.
