We picked up three Easter Eggers (they were label as Americana) back in March and two of them are laying, but Pat hasn't yet and we are worried he might be a rooster (we can't have roosters where we are). He hasn't started crowing but he has always been the dominate one among the three, loves to be up on the fence or any other high spot, and doesn't seem to have the puffy cheek feathers like the other two EEs.

All are pullets. Easter Eggers (sold as Americana - notice the i in the spelling) are cross breeds. They can lay any color egg, have varying amounts of beards or no beards. They tend to be very good layers though.

Had to giggle at the name - reminded me of the old, "It's Pat" skits from SNL back in the day.................fortunately, in your Pat's case it can be determined with confidence that she is all woman!

That was the reason we named him (guess her now) Pat because of SNL. We laughed too.
