I know exactly what you're saying. I felt a lot more confident after studying the assist guide and knowing what to look for. I would probably pick at anything older than a day or so, but if they are swollen from too high humidity they might not be able to try and zip.

I have 4 more pipped as far as I can tell, they have been pipped since this morning. so almost 12 hours? No zipping yet.


EDIT: HOLY COW IT WAS ZIPPING I HAVE THREE CHICKS!!!!! YIPPIE!! NO ASSISTING FOR #3!!! It's out and running around!

Man, I don't feel well, and I didn't eat that much.

I need some baby chicks. Will go into lock down come Monday night. :)

She is a white... no vent sexing, still learning that and heard it's harder to do with Calls since they're so small... yep, she'll be super spoiled... Hi, Sally... ;)

I've read it three times, but I always go back and re-read the section I'm working on JUUUUUST in case I misread/forgot something. Haha.

I know the bigger ducks were not an issues to vent, but everytime I hatched silkies ducks I gave up, cause I think I was seein things that werent there
