Silkies are *supposed* to have:
-crests
-mulberry colored walnut combs
-5 toes on each foot
-feathered shanks (preferably with the feathers extending to at least the middle toe)
-black skin (though I notice my whites and splashes are more blue than black).
-dark eyes
-blue earlobes
-can be bearded or non bearded
-and, of course, shredded Silkie feathers.
Keep in mind that not all will conform to the standard. Some can have more or less toes, improper combs, pigment holes in the skin color (splotches that aren't black) or the wrong colored skin all over, small or no crests, I've even seen them with normal, hard feathers. Theres a lot to breed for there, and not everyone is genetically blessed.
