That's just what male red sexlinks end up looking like. They get their mother's silver (white) color with red leakage. It doesn't really matter what specific breed is used, as long as the hen is silver (black and white) and the rooster is red/gold. It's one the few cross breedings that will result in fairly predictable looking birds. The resulting male chicks will feather in mostly white or black and white with red/gold leakage to varying degrees. The female chicks will feather in mostly red/gold/brown and have some white feathering, usually on the primary feathers and tail. This enables chicks to be sexed at hatch by color, with nearly 100% accuracy.
