Wanting Indian Runners - Page 2

Thanks. We're going to see some indian runners today and get some eggs to try. If we like the eggs, we'll go back and get a few duck hens. Found them locally. Yay!

What did you mean by both ducklings are gone? @turtlebutt

 Western N.C ~ 17 chickens= EE's, Game, variety of bantams,1Light Brahma, 2 Black Australorps . 5 Muscovy ducks, 8 Indian Runners and 2 Buff Orpington Ducks, 1 Embden gander,1 Toulouse goose , 3 mini Dachshunds, 2 mixed breed, pond goldfish,  and a wonderful Husband who makes it all possible..

 Western N.C ~ 17 chickens= EE's, Game, variety of bantams,1Light Brahma, 2 Black Australorps . 5 Muscovy ducks, 8 Indian Runners and 2 Buff Orpington Ducks, 1 Embden gander,1 Toulouse goose , 3 mini Dachshunds, 2 mixed breed, pond goldfish,  and a wonderful Husband who makes it all possible..

You should never just let your ducks go and forget about them. And muscovy ducks are an invasive species in Florida so that would be very irresponsible to do let alone your ducks probably won't make it in the wild. If you need to relocate them put and ad on craigslist but never just turn them out in the wild and forget about them it's very irresponsible and could be destructive to native species. I really hope you didn't do that for the sake of those ducks and the ecosystem as well

Nyrunner. In case you didn't read the thread that didn't happen. And by the way, I'm a Fl naturalist that has spent most of my life trying to protect Fl from invasives. We rescued them from dogs in the wild and if they would have made it I would have taken them to a friends private pond with other domestics. I am not and never have been irresponsible to my animals or to the wildlife and habitats of Florida. Sorry, but O had to put that out there.
