I live in south Louisiana and have have 11 red sexlinks approx. 1-1/2 years. They have laid pretty steady till now.
They just got finished molting aprox. 3 months ago. About 2 weeks ago I introduced 9 pullets to the flock. They were still laying aprox. 7 eggs a day. About 5 days ago they have stopped laying completely. I have not had one egg in 5 days. Any suggestions or things to look for to see what might be going wrong. Still using same food.
(16% protein laying pellets). I had some chick grower left when I introduced the new birds so I mixed about 15LBS of that with 50LBS of the laying pellets.

I have read adding lights to the coop so they have at least 14 hrs of light a day will help. I would up their feed to at least 21% layer and add red pepper to it.

It may also be stress from adding the pullets because now they have to work out a new pecking order.
