Egg Bound?

I have a Khaki Campbell, 1-2 yrs old that I just acquired. She was acting egg bound so I soaked her fanny in warm water, lubed her up in the vent with vaseline. I could feel the egg at that time. It felt soft. I did not manipulate it or try to work it out. I put her in a bunny cage with water and food and warmth with a towel over her. It's been 11 hours and no egg. I lubed her again, but I could no longer feel the egg. there was not residue from the egg on my finger either. Could she have reabsorbed it that quickly or is there another concern I should have? She is eating, drinking and sitting normally at this time. Thanks!

Could it have just been a prolapsed vent did u see anything sticking out of her vent she could have readjusted it if it was try and stick an old sock or rubber glove on and see if u feel any thing in her vent be gentle in this process or she can start bleeding internally and die if it felt soft u could just pop it and suck the yolk and stuff out

I would give her 50 mg calcium two or three times a day for a few days as well as some time in a tub of lukewarm water.

I crush calcium citrate tablets and sprinkle it on a treat, like thawed peas, but you can use liquid calcium gluconate also.

Please keep us posted.

My vet told me 22cc of the calcium gluconate but I would check her for an egg inside of her vent because most hens that go egg bound will mostly stop eating and drinking sometimes they will only do one of those but I would reccomend checking her for an egg before u give her any of that stuff
