Awesome! mine seem to average around 12-18 hours. Last hatch I had 2-3 that made it out in less than 10, and I always have some that push that 24 mark. Our first hatchling zipped about 17 hours after pipping. One of them zipped 36 hours after pipping! All of them had a signif amount of time pass b/w the two events. I have read in some posts that people have had their eggs move much more rapidly, but not our little group of barred rocks. Enjoy your hatch, and good for you for getting the temp where
it needed to be, to get them to this point. Here's a picture of our babies
Congrats!! Once they start zipping, I play chick music- you tube videos of chicks chirping by the bator and they are usually out within 15 minutes....lol It really has worked for every hatch I've had so far.
Looks real good for you!4 chicks in the brooder, two starting to zip, and 3 pipped. Humidity running a bit over 70%. Today is day 21. We started lock down with 11 viable eggs.
we both have deep MN roots and lived there quite a bit. Just had to toss an Ufdah our for our roots raising chickens in MNCongratulations!! Your first is very cute. Our little flock was sleeping in a big pile this morning. I have a lot of MN connections, and visit family there every year. It's nice to hear an Ufdah
