I'm on day 28 with my eggs in the bator. They internally pipped on day 25 and havn't made a single pip. I pipped for them yesterday with the hope that they would unzip themselves. Nothing has happened and I don't want to open the eggs all the way because I can see some marbel-gumball sized yolks. I want to make sure they absorb as much yolk as possible before coming out of the shell. I don't know what to do! This is my first batch of eggs ever! Also there's a little guy that's malpositioned! I put a small hole by his beak(sucessfully) in the shell. Thanks for any help! Please respond soon!

I just assisted hatch 7 chicken eggs out of 17. Broody hen clutch. that didn't hatch by day 24.. 3 fays late. 4 had already died in peep in air but not threw shell. Yolk was absorbed completely or almost.3 I cut around air sack zipped.added lots of humidity. One hatched 2 still got shrink wraped. So I broght them inside with heat and humidity and helped. They both had belly button issues but lived and doing great now. Helping can hurt. Shrink wrap and yolk issue but I cant sit by and do nothing 4 died because I waited. It's really up to you.if it was me I'd zipp around air sac. And add extra humidity. I found wetting the membrain helped. Also I have had low temps once and my eggs took an extra day.

Ok, I have zipped around the air sac. One of the backwards one died.

I don't know the cause but I'm pretty sure it just didn't get to any air. I have 4 that I zipped around for and they're veins are minuscule now. So the just have to finish the rest of the yolk and push themselves out.

Another malpositioned duckling died... Anyways the 5 that I have are good. Actually 3 of them have hatched! Yeah! I'm waiting on the other two's veins to dry up some more...

That's great. I I have some call ducks to hatch right now not only do they normally need assistance to hatch but the have collapsed air sacs which is hard to deal with. I'm hoping half will make it. I really hope yours are doing good.:)
