End of February I purchased 6 chicks from Tractor Supply. I knew they were pullets, but the breeds I was told they were, aren't matching up with pictures I have seen and researched. I am new to chickens, so I am looking for some help! I was told the pullets were either Rhode Island Reds or Barred Rocks. The black chicks had some gray to them, but now appear almost all black. I recently noticed they have some brownish feathers coming in around their necks, and some slight brown on their backs (hard to see from the pictures). They are not looking like barred rocks. Any help to confirm the reds and the breeds of the black would be greatly appreciated!

Almost look like Black Stars and Red Stars to me, but I could be wrong.

Welcome. I'm going to guess sex links.

I know the brown and white ones are Golden Sex Links, that is about what ours are looking like right now. a little less brown on them, but they started out as little golden puffballs with stripes down their backs.

As the black have reddish feathering coming in at the chest it looks like you have lovely red and black sex links (often sold as black star - bsl, or cinnamon queen, golden comet, etc - rsl)

You're right that they're not barred rocks! They would have much more prominent coloring by now. I'd agree that they look like sex links. They're adorable whatever they are!! :D
