Hi there
I'm going to start hatching out serama chicks and selling them, but I have to ask a question: If I let the hen hatch them and then I sell them one by one, would that make the hen sad? Should I sell the hatching eggs instead?

Thanks

Hi there
I'm going to start hatching out serama chicks and selling them, but I have to ask a question: If I let the hen hatch them and then I sell them one by one, would that make the hen sad? The hen might miss the chicks for a short while. The bond between hens and chicks is a strong one, but not long lasting. My serama hens start to wean their chicks when they are 3 weeks old. By the end of that week the hen is laying eggs again. Then by another week brooding begins with the new clutch of eggs. The prior batch of chicks are totally on their own. Should I sell the hatching eggs instead? Why not both? That is what I plan when my stock is good enough to sell.

Thanks
