Hi, this morning I discovered that three baby chicks had hatched out of my incubator! Two looks fluffy, so I moved them to the brooder, but I'm worried about the third one. It doesn't seem to be able to walk and it keeps lurching around and pressing its head against the side of the incubator. I can see some blood in there, but they hatched in the night so I didn't see what happened. It can still cheep, but I'm a first-time hatcher so I'm worried. Please help!

It's a cross between a hybrid layer and our light Sussex rooster. Thank you so much for your advice:)

I recently tried incubating for the first time and had a bit of a binge, the photos above are some of my chicks first uncoordinated moments in the incubator and one of my vorwerk that I think looks like your chick from the photo. I really enjoyed hatching chicks but it can be stressful! I enjoyed the last few hatched the most because I was worrying less. Are you planing any more hatches?

Update: the chick is still bedraggled and has what looks like blood coming out of its vent. The other two chicks are pecking it so I moved it back into the incubator. What's wrong?

If you post some photos myself or someone with more experience might be able to tell. I have had chicks that had a little blood where the yolk sack is absorbed. Belly button?! Most survived. One died. Leaving it in the incubator until it is stronger is probably the best thing for it. If it's actively bleeding, you can stop it with corn flour.
Why would it be too late because you are in the UK? I'm in the UK and hoping to hatch some more this year :s
