Egg Thief Surveillance

I found a MUCH better camera spot, but still haven't caught my thief. I'm getting eggs again, though, so that's exciting.



So I never saw him coming in (either he came in the other side, or a duck was in the way of the camera when he came in this way) but here's Fat Ben leaving in disappointment

At some point between 5:30 and this picture, an egg was laid! There were a bunch of ducks blocking that part of the shot during that time, though.




At some point, the egg gets kicked over a bit



Then another one appears out of nowhere! No shots of anyone laying here, so I'm assuming it was laid somewhere offscreen and then kicked over here later.



The egg in the back gets knocked over again



I'm not sure what got all of their attention, but I like the profile shots...



And this one I kept because it shows Mirage's pretty face stripes and a little bit of her mottling

Really cool thread! Once my babies are older, I think I'll get the same set up!!

Still no thievery, at least that I can see... It's hard to tell for sure when the ducks are always crossing in front of the camera, but I still think this is the best vantage point to watch for eggs growing legs.


Latenight pancakes


I can't tell who this is, but she spent a few minutes checking out the camera


So the ducks USED to almost always lay in the back left corner of the house, in a little nest they made there. Lately they've been laying in the back right corner (where Ezri is snooping around in this picture). She always seems super interested in nests and eggs...


Impa (that little snoot peeking around the corner on the left) is laying next to another new nesting spot; one of my girls (and I assume it's the same one every time, because the eggs are always the exact same shade of pale green) has taken to laying under the little house bush

Ezri put herself in the corner...


Can't tell from this angle if that's Zoe or Wednesday, but I love that dragon stretch!

The ducks don't seem all that bothered by him... is that weird?


This is where I generally assume he comes and goes, but it doesn't seem big enough to fit eggs...


Thirty seconds later! I wonder if they charged him?

The twins are, as ever, completely baffled



I can't even be mad at him! I haven't seen him steal a single egg, and look how cute and chubby he is! He's like a little cartoon!

It takes three minutes for them to completely clean out their food bowl and shift to scrounging around for spilled pellets!


I just like this one because Gwaine's doing her charging-bull thing, and that tickles me



Sometime in the hour between these two shots, a molehill appeared! You can just see it behind the duck butts in the second picture as a little dark mound. Apparently the creation of the mound wasn't enough motion to trigger the camera...



And between these two shots, another hill appeared just inside the greenhouse, in the right edge of the doorway! Again, the culprit never appears on camera, there's just suddenly a molehill the next time the ducks walk by to trigger the motion detector.


Ezri, casually hamming it up



Not sure if this is Azula or Zuko (seems a bit too upright to be Zuko, a bit too chubby to be Azula... my gut says Zuko, though) but I love how purple he is from this angle. Both my boys are getting a bit scroungey around the backs of their necks (and Azula's missing a few feathers there), probably from sorting out dominance. I hope they get it figured out soon, and reasonably peacefully; they always used to get along so well, but Zuko seems to be finally taking his place at the top of the pecking order.
