I noticed on Monday my Rhode Island red hen was standing in one place with a droopy comb and she wasn't interested in worms. I put some electrolytes in her water hoping that would help, she was the same Tuesday and yesterday she wouldn't move, she wants to lay in one spot and won't eat or drink. I've been syringe giving her water, her crop is empty and I don't feel an egg stuck anywhere. I don't know what to do at this point. Do I force feed her? What do I give her?

How old is she, and has she recently been laying eggs? Did you feel inside her vent with one finger to check for a stuck egg? Is she passing any droppings? Has she lost weight through her breast area when you pick her up? Can you feel anything inside her lower belly? Have you wormed her recently? When I have had a sick chicken acting like that, I look them over for any lice or mites. I offer some chopped egg bits, and that is hard for most chickens to refuse. So many things can cause these symptoms such as coccidiosis, a blockage in the gizzard, and many others. Tube feeding is possible if she won't drink. Do you have a vet who would see her, or at least do a fecal test on her droppings for worms and coccidiosis?

She is almost 4 years old and she was laying last week, and yes she doesn't have an egg stuck for sure.she isn't pooping though. I gave her some water and her crop feels big but empty, like it's full of air almost? It's probably been a year since I wormed her, and I don't see any mites at all. I've tried all her favorite stuff and she won't eat anything, even eggs.now when I put her down she slumps over and then turns to one side, but her face looks alert and her eyes are open.
