False pregnancy in bloodhound

My one year old bloodhound had her first full heat 2 months ago... putting her into a false pregnancy and her 'due' date last Saturday.
Well that night she threw up ( nothing but clear fluid) and had one episode of the runs when she went out to do her business. She turned her nose up to any treats and also didn't eat that evening or Sunday either. She's drinking just fine but is being very moody .. the other dogs are walking on egg shells around her. So what I'd like to know is this normal for dogs that have false pregnancy ??
I gave her a couple small stuffed toys for her 'puppies' but she buried some and has hid the others... not liking it if one of the other dogs gets one...

I've had a dog many years ago with a false pregnancy. She developed milk and tried nursing pretend puppies. Never got sick. I would get your dog to a vet to be checked out, sounds like a potential infection or illness. Dogs that don't feel well will act like that.

Does she have a discharge? Glad you are taking her to a vet. You should ask to have her checked for pyometria which can be a life threatening infection of the uterus. There is both a wet and dry and chronic form Not sure if the chronic and dry form are the same, but at least you usually have extra time with the chronic.
You can also have similar symptoms with cystic ovaries, but she seems a little young for that. Usually they are older and have been through several heats. Good luck.
Don't want to scare you, but if she seems to be failing fast, get her to an emergency vet. (I just went through something similar and recovery wasn't a sure thing.)
 
Usually if you tell the clinic your dog is ill, they can fit you in. From your description, it sounds like your dog needs to see the vet ASAP.
 
Ok went without an appointment ( have one for Wednesday ) as I worry about my girl Rose. White blood count normal and checked for and ruled out pyometra (sp?).
Slightly dehydrated but only slightly. She got a B12 and Pepcid shot with pills for next few days and bland diet. If no improvement in next few days she is to return.
Vet said possibly she has a virus or flu bug or something to that effect. She did however eat a little this morning.
Thank you for your comments/advice and I'll continue to watch her for improvement!
