View attachment 1210079 View attachment 1210080 View attachment 1210077 Hi everyone, I am wondering why one of the two Silkies I raised together has become so mean to the rooster it was raised with. They used to be inseparable to the extent that we could not remove one without the other raising a ruckus. I assume the mean one is female but am now wondering if it is a cockerel. They are about 5-months-old. The hen (?) goes after the rooster all the time for no reason and chases him around and pecks him and pulls feathers out. He just minds his business and is actually pretty timid which may be the issue. Thoughts? (P.s. The food and water containers shown in pics are their old ones that we no longer use. They have both in their coop)
Thank you. We figured that out this morning when we saw it crow for the first time. Were you able to tell from the comb? It's a cockerel...

All pullets.A while back, I asked about my "ladies" on here, but that was back when they were still pretty young and hard to tell the gender of. I was wondering if I could get them confirmed, please? Here they are:View attachment 1223151 View attachment 1223152 View attachment 1223153
She's just maturing and is almost ready to start laying.Thank you so much. We were not to sure about the one shown third since she was getting the thing on her nose and chin.
They have cushion combs. That's not what you'd normally see from the crossing you mentioned, they both have a rose comb gene in there.Hi, we’ve got some 7 week old olive Egger chicks. Any guesses? I’m thinking one of each. They are copper maran x araucana.
