Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Wow, I can not believe out of the 947,000 pictures I took of them today this was the best shot of her (shorter tail) face! :he
Maybe tomorrow?

Crazy to think they are changing so differently. Both have the black/yellow feet and both are developing into gorgeous blue/black birds. But those tails! I am cool either way but curious. And not super patient to just wait and see I guess. :)

And really...now I’m not even sure that’s right. :idunno:th

Kylo's feet (7-8 week Asian Black)

Are those Spurs?
Because my white rock and mystery chicken have them too....

These are spurs (on a pullet!):

Spur nubs are like nipples on a mammal -- they all have them. They aren't necessarily going to develop into spurs but even if they do, it isn't a solid indicator of gender.

First time posting but I've been on here for nearly 2 years reading advice etc. We have 4 rescue isa browns from the battery farm, 1 Australorp given to us from a family home and then these two new additions which we have been keeping separate of course. Black one is maybe 11/12 weeks now. Brown is 9 weeks.

Pullets ?? I have no idea how to tell... can you help me? I don't even know what breed they are! They were rescued from a "petting farm" before they got killed off. (They had been pecked and had open sores and wounds, all recovered now though!!) Living the good life in the Hunter Valley wine region of Australia.

Many thanks for your help!

If the ages are accurate, you have two cockerel Wyandottes, a silver laced and a blue laced red. The development of red wattles and ears on the silver laced is a strong indication even though he doesn't have his rooster feathers yet. The blue laced red is only slightly more developed than I'd expect for a pullet but has the darker wing shading to go with that. It will be much more obvious in a couple of weeks as they have their "teen" molt.

One day short of 5-weeks old, bantam EEer and a bantam Cochin. (The Cochin pics I also posted in a separate thread updating their pics from 3wo). If you know cockerel or pulley for either, can you tell me how/why you know? I’m trying to learn - thanks!

I have 8 chicks, ranging from about 5/6 wks to 8/9 weeks. These are the oldest ones. The light one is a blue birchen marans and the brown is a blue barvenelder. The comb/wattles on the Barnevelder are smaller but a little redder than the marans. The marans doesn't act at all rooish, "she's" actually quite dainty, lol. I had a Bcm that I was convinced was a roo until she layed, because of her huge comb and wattles from an early age, so I'm hoping these 2 still have a chance to be girls.
