Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Yay! I'm so glad! Although I did want at least one roo. Those are easy to find though so I'll begin my roo search.

Try to get yourself a high quality cockbird from breeder lines, even if you just want him for a pet/casual breeding. It's a buyers market and you'll generally get the best personality and vigor from a breeder stock bird! Lots of rare and quality males out there for very good prices.

Shoot I was afraid it was a he. The 1 female he is in the brooder with peck his beak Real gentle like. Sigh
Hope the silkie is a hen.... Please God let it be a hen!

Believe we are around 7-8 weeks. Checking cockerel or pullet please. Thank you in advance!!!

This Australorp...I read they have white faces as chicks, do they all?! Ours has always been all black, with red & green tinged feathers from about 15weeks old. Would she still definitely be an Australorp? (I have posted plenty of pics of her here in the past)

Great news. One cockerel for sure (barred rock in the middle shown below). We have three that are dark in color and very hard to get pics of. They look a lot like my "four".

Thank you for your input. We can finally name them

This Easter Egger chick is 5 weeks old. It is getting some pink in the comb but it's comb is much smaller and less pink than my other, more obvious cockerels. Any chance it could be a pullet, or is pink in the comb a sure sign of a cockerel at 5 weeks?

They are all 5.4 weeks old. I bought 3 different assortments and 1 BR cockerel from mypetchicken. (Assorted rare breed- females, assorted feathered leg bantams-straight run, and assorted bantams-straight run)

They are a bit young yet, but so far I see two probable cockerels. #2 on the waterer looks like a male, and the brown chick in #9 has a large comb, so is suspicious.
