At what age does introducing chicks become a problem?

I have 3 different age groups... 6 weeks, 4 weeks and 1.5 weeks. Our coop is almost finished.. well, finished enough to get some chicks in there. My question is, will my 6 week old Isa Browns and Cornish crosses be mean to the 4 week old Barred Rocks, Silver Laced Wyandottes and Silkies?

The Isa Browns and Cornish crosses are definitely going into the coop... this weekend! The 4 week olds could potentially stay in their brooder a bit longer... but when the time comes to put them together, do I need to worry about an introduction process?

I don't know if it matters all that much at this young of an age. Thanks.
 
I would plan on separating groups for a bit as you add them. Put up a wire divider to house the younger ones. After a week or so I would start letting them mingle to see how they interact. Return them to their own side when you can't watch them until you feel that they are mostly getting along. Then you can leave them together and work on the next batch. It can go easy or hard, it depends on individual personalities.

Thanks for that advice. I am planning a separate area for this purpose, it's just not going to be done right away, but the oldest ones are the ones in need of getting to the coop the most. The 'teenagers' can wait a bit longer.. until I get the set up finished. :)
