Good evening everyone. This is my first time raising chickens I live in south Carolina. I have a hen that has been in the coop for three days . She will come out to eat and drink bit goes right back in. I am scared to move her or make her come out because something can be really wrong and I don't want to hurt her. What could be wrong? I have been reading some of the forum where it could be her vent clogged and put her in warm water and Epson salt. Bu I want to see what else it could be. I have 4 buff orp and only one stays in the coop. Please give me some advice or suggestions.

Is she just sitting in one spot? Sounds like she's broody, which is nothing to worry about. You can break her of it if you don't want her to hatch any eggs.

Yes she is sitting in one spot. How do I break her.

Some people will put in a broody cage with wire floor so she can't make a nest and leave her in there for a few days to a week with food and water. I've never tried it as I either let mine hatch out or just keep taking the eggs away and eventually they quit.

Making it unnerving to sit in there will work, too. Ever blasted music or construction sounds in the coop? That will break a broody instantly! Personal experience when hubby broke a broody by accident.
