miss america (frizzle sizzle cochin)

penny (frizzle sizzle cochin)

the baby baby (standard silkie)

siouxsie sioux (smooth silkie)

we brought these girls (fingers crossed) home 23 days ago from fabulously feathered silkies in Lathrop, ca. This is my husband and mine's first flock! Miss America picked us out at the breeder's and has been my lap chick ever since. I'll admit that we're worried she's a roo, but hopefully she's not. If she is we'll have to make one of those no crow collars work! Penny hasn't grown a whole bunch since we got her but she has grown more feathers. When we brought them home penny and siouxsie were the same size and now penny snuggles under siouxsie when she is cold!
I come to BYC every day searching the forums for advice so i thought it was time to introduce myself! I'm looking froward to becoming part of the community!
xoxo

Nice to meet you Jen, Welcome to Backyard chickens. I LOVE Miss American. Her comb is pale but, I can see the start of wattles, at this early stage - I hope she stays"female," for you.

You can post your photos at "what breed or gender is this." for much more professional opinions.

thank you! i hope so too, i just posted some pics in that thread.

I am curious to know how your birds are doing and if they ever showed signs of illness?
