New ducklings haven't pooped on us!

This may be a strange topic but we were just really surprised that that over several hours of handling and cuddling our new ducklings they haven't pooped on us! They usually poop prolifically the minute we put them down - anywhere! Including the sofa,carpets, & even their food and water bowls! But they haven't pooped while we're handling them.

Do we just have very considerate ducklings?! Or is this just the calm before the poop tsunami?!
 
Lol I thought that would probably be the answer! :) At least we had a lovely first night of poop free cuddle time to treasure!! Well, poop free on us anyway... there's been plenty of poop all over everything else lol. We got through 6 puppy training pads just tonight, & even with that they still pooped on the sofa and carpets!

Ah well, they're so adorable it's worth it :) the weather forecast for the next 10 years is poop tsunami!!
 
Daisy did her first poop on me! I'm sure she didn't mean it though... It was when she very first scampered onto me so it was probably already on the way out...

About 10 minutes later, she was sat on my chest but shuffled backwards to my shoulder, pooped on my pillow behind me, then shuffled forward to my chest again. She was clearly aiming the poop away from me!!

She did the same thing a couple of times last night in the brooder, to avoid pooping on the fluffy hot water bottle cover we put in there. So she must have at least some awareness of when she's going to poop?
 
They do the shuffle yeah, but it's not really to avoid pooping on something it's really to keep the poop out of their immediate space.

Keep watching they'll shuffle back and poop in the food bowl or on their sister.
 
Ah ok! They have pooped on us quite a bit now lol. & in their food & water. Not on each other yet but I won't be surprised when it happens!
