Hi, our chicks hatched last Sunday (Mothers day) I of them is smaller and falls behind the group. We have been giving her extra food and save-a-chik to drink. Last night we found her in the garden laying on her side separated from her hen and siblings. We brought her in our house, put her under a lamp and she perked up a little, She made a few peeps over the evening, drinks a little when i feed her. She is still not doing well today, sleeping, a little tilted to the side, she does perk up a little if I pat her. Any suggestions? She does not seem to be improving, eyes closed, not eatting, not really moving. She is still in her box with heat... HELP!!! Any suggestions???

Do you have too much heat on it? Make sure it can get away from the heat, check that your not much over 90 F.

Save a chick, sugar water, electrolytes with vitamins all do one important thing- perk up the chick so it has energy to eat. Eating is what puts them back to health. Check your brooder set up and try to get it to eat.

Hi, The temperature is under 90 degrees so I think that is ok, she is just so weak. What do you suggest to feed? I'm thinking to add some pellets to a water dropper and feed? Thanks for your help...

Hi Sadly our little chick named Sweetie did not make it. We are so sad, but her 6 siblings are doing fine.

Sorry to hear about Sweetie. Sometimes there is something wrong internally and they don't make the first week. Glad the others are doing well.
