I've read a few different answers to my question so I'm turning to you guys in hopes some of you have the same breed of chickens as me. My question is, at what age can I expect my girls to start laying eggs? I have blocked off their nesting box until they're closer to actually needing it. They started a habit I recently posted about of them roosting inside of the nesting box as well as on the board that leads into it instead of the awesome three tier roosting platforms I built them. They're getting used to it which is nice but, I know that eventually I'll need the nesting box available for them again. I have Partridge Rock, Speckled Sussex and Silver Laced Wyandotte chickens. Any ideas?

The reason you hear so much conflicting information is it varies greatly. So many things effect a hen laying, food, sunlight (yes sunlight), breed, stress. My Barr Rocks began laying at about 5months.
