Wish I could do that! We have one solid board running up and down. Do we'd have to cut into the wall and I think it'd be to much trouble! We actually used decking board for the floor on our coop, so there are little tiny cracks in the floor. It makes it a pain since the shaving fall through but I guess I could hose the coop out once or twice a year!

Wow! So glad I haven't had to deal with Coyotes. The window for my bedroom faces the chicken pen, one night I heard awful cackling sounds, almost like a Hyena. Sounded kind of like demons or something. Scared me to death! Figured it was just Coyotes.

I hear coyote packs out my windows at night.  I don't have chickens yet, but knowing that they're here (have captured them on game cameras 100' from the house) I'm planning ahead for coop and run.  Their howling and yelping can cause the hair on your arms to standup at times. :hide

Job 27:3-6   All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;  My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.  God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.  My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

Such a coincidence because I had just posted it. But two nights ago heard what I think was a Fox outside. Made some awful screeching/cackling sounds.
