Hey all! Our ducklings arrive tomorrow so we're making sure everything is squared away. My husband bought some bedding on the recomendation of someone he works with and I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and what you guys think? It is called Rocky Canyon Barn & Stable Animal Bedding. It is in these little pellets and I worry they won't be good for the ducklings to walk on, but I really have no idea since this is our first time with ducklings! Any help is appreciated. :)

More then anything you want to make sure the know the difference between food and bedding. Try no bedding at first, may be 2 days, just a non slick pad, like what you put in your kitchen cabinets. Ducks are very messy also so any thing to help with cleaning is great.

Thanks emichels! BYC wasn't working for me so I didn't see this until after I already put them on the bedding. They definitely did try to eat the pellets! Right now they pellets were too big to fit in their mouth but it was stressful! Took a minute for them to figure out where there food was, but now they seem to have it. I think I'll go grab some of our regular bedding for our adult ducks and put that on top of the pellets. If they still try to eat them I will just have to take them out. Thanks for the advice!

When raising my ducklings they where VERY messy. We tried bedding chips but that got soaked with water. So we switched to pine pellet stall bedding. It soaks up water very well and it's super easy to clean.

But don't get Cedar! Cedar can kill ducks(and chickens) remember to only get pine.

And you can get the pellets at tractor supply.
