Please help, they're ripping off each other's beaks

My parents say I'm being dramatic, but we currently have 19 chickens in what I think is too small a run and they're pecking at each other's beaks. In one it's bleeding at the end, on another, the tip is hanging off and he's bleeding, and they all have dents on their beaks. Is this because they're hot or crowded? I'm trying to put up ads for the roosters. We just got rid of two.; had 21 before. They all are let to free range for a couple hours once we get home but all day they're in their run. Can they kill each other? Apparently "they'll be fine" but I'm really worried. Even when they're outside, they all crowd around together. I love my babies and I hate the thought of coming home one day to them bleeding everywhere.

What size is your pen? Is there adequate ventilation and do they have food and water available at all times? Just like us, chickens who are overheated will get cranky, and yes, they can injure/kill each other. How old are they?

I am not sure of the size of the run. I'll have to check. I think there is adequate ventilation, yes.

Hmm, well that is not good. I'm planning on getting rid of a good seven or more so far; all the boys. They're currently about seven and a half weeks old. Here are some pictures of the one who got the worst of it.
