Membrane Of Zipping Chick Looks Ugly? Help!

I have an egg that's zipping, but the membrane doesn't look that good. The chick is peeping healthily, but the membrane has blood on it that doesn't seem completely right. Here is a picture.



I may be overreacting, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

I see what you mean, but it's hard to tell from the pic how bad it is. If it's not actively bleeding I wouldn't be too concerned though. Chicks usually know when the time is right to start zipping and complete the hatch. Please keep us updated?
 
The chick has finally hatched, but I thought I'd post because the membrane doesn't look healthy at all. The chick is acting healthy, though. What do you think? The pictures are from the top half of the zipped egg.

The chick passed away that night. I found it pipping in the nest of eggs that my broody had left that morning, so it had been cold for quite a while before I found it, possibly up to three or four hours. Does anyone have any idea what happened?
