Okay, I'm stumped! Help a girl out? The dark ones have pronounced combs and are bigger - whereas the lighter ones look pullet-y and smaller. I know in this breed it should be the opposite? If it helps a they are 7 weeks old and as day old chicks they were all dark and the same color.

Any thoughts will be so welcome! Thanks!

Chick 1 is a possible cockerel. Anyone with lighter barring usually is a Cockerel

That's what I thought! We have two and two like that - the ones that are larger though, with bigger combs (though not very pink ones) are the ones with darker coloring. The two with light barring are smaller and have less of a comb.

I suppose I'll know better in a few weeks!

Barring? You mean the white spots? I have 2 CM chicks, thought they were pullets but one's spots are lighter than the other.
The technical term for it is barring. The third pic down in the original post is what I'm trying to point out by lighter barring :)

For what it's worth, they all look like pullets to me. So if you're asking @PNWskye because you were worried about some you might have, I have never seen a bird that dark be a rooster.
