I went to check on my broody and her chicks this afternoon, and I found one chick outside of the chicken house where my broody is sitting. The chick was crying, and when I put it next to its mother it stumbled around, almost as if it's drunk. I brought it inside, and now it's under a heat lamp, but it's still stumbling around and it's started to put its in between its legs as if to try clean its belly, but it doesn't. Sometimes it will put its head so far under its belly that it will literally do a somersault. It's still acting alert though, and when I brought it away from the heat lamp it began holding its head way straighter. The heat lamp wasn't to hot though, so I'm not sure why taking it away seemed to help. Also, the chick is only two days old and was hatched by a broody. When it did hatch, it hatch healthily and the membrane looked healthy.
