Need emergency help!! Predator proofing

Discovered today that even though I was getting a good jolt it was only putting out 1000volts. Fix an issue now it's putting out around 5000 volts.

Should that be enough to give the fox a shock or does it really need to be 7000 volts?

What could be causing the drop?
Need another grounding rod?
Eliminate one line of the Raven wire?
Add another charger that connects at the other side of the fencing?

don't know how many chickens you have but I had the same problem I just go out at night and put them in there coop and shut the door lock them up fox cant get in chickens don't come out tell day . also you could get a donkey they will keep fox away

Make sure it's not shorting out somewhere. Walk your fence and listen for it to "tick". If you hear that, check it out - it may be touching other metal, causing a short. Also, make sure the grass is well-trimmed and not touching the wire.

Adding another ground rod won't hurt. I have always been told to never have more than one charger hooked to fence at a time. Wherever you have wire joining another wire you want TIGHT connection. Loose connections can cause drop. Ensure your ground rod has tight connection, too.

I think I'm gonna add two 4 foot grounding rods and then wire up the strands of woven wire to maybe give better connections between them all? This is already done where the gate openings are for me to get in the electrified area but maybe more will help?

Also, where those openings are for access I used one gate hook. Do most people just use one gate hook or more?
