Hi, I was wondering if this chick is old enough to tell if it's a he or she? I'm guessing it's between 5-6 weeks old? Thanks!

Too young to tell. Try posting updated photos when the chick is 8-12 weeks of age. So far it's not screaming cockerel. Also, that bird is Blue, not Lavender.

The patchiness of the Blue, leads me to think cockerel, but it's still too young to be sure.

Here's a pic of my Lavender Orpington 16 wks. Roo I spotted early with long and distinct hackle feathers. If patchy dark spots are indicator too, got 'em., plus comb and wattle developed early. Not an expert just studied info online. My Pet Chicken confirms Roo.
