@msmolly , look, it's the only wormer that doesn't list death.

The only thing it's missing in the Copper part is that when they ingest enough copper it can turn egg yolks black.

Thank you every one! I was certain I had killed my baby. But the family she /it is fine today. Picture of the happy family alive and well this morning. The chick with out the white shoulders is the one I nearly killed.
Okay- so the black egg yolk thing is a little freaky with the copper Birdrain92 ! Almost, kinda want to see that...

So here is my next question.....I really need and want this baby to be a hen. So far I've got two votes saying both my chicks are male. I will agree the chick with the white shoulder epaulettes looks male, but please...please tell me the brown shoulder is a hen......please? Close ups of her/its wings attached.

I think it may turn out to be male. I've had males that don't have much barring around the 1 month old area and then get lots of barring around two months. These two became males. As you can see they don't have much for defined barring other than their new shoulder feathers. With Pied chicks it can be more difficult do to the white areas. If they're going to get more barring again, it usually starts at the wrist/shoulders of the wing is what I've noticed with my chicks.

Give me a few minutes and I'll show you. Another weird trick with eggs is, if the hen gets a lot of cottonseed the protein in cottonseed can turn the albumen a different color, I believe my vet book said pink.

Yea, in regards to safeguard, I too always error on the low side of the dose until I saw some other posts here about the safety of safeguard's toxicity. Now I measure based on weight and usually go up to the next higher ml. Also, and this is most important, to dose him/her again in 10 days as that got me twice, before I found that out.

I've never had luck in mixing the Safeguard in their water as it doesn't seam to mix well and clumps up in their water dispenser.

good luck

I have never had any problems with over dosing birds with Safeguard but I had a goat to have a terrible reaction to it and died. I still use it for my poultry but I have never dosed another goat with it.

Thank you for that testimony. There are other people on the web that will not listen when some of us tell them if you're going to use Safeguard put it on a treat or directly in their mouth not the water. If you want a wormer to put in the water try Valbazen. It can be a nightmare dealing with some people that want to use Safeguard in the wrong way.

I think it might be a hen. Look at the individual feathers and see if there are multi bars or a single bar on the feather. The wing won't tell me as much as the back and the chest.
