Two days ago my first ducklings hatched under my silkie hen. One of them (a runner duckling) seemed to have difficulty walking, so I moved it into a brooder. I gently lowered its beak on water every hour to ensure it didn't dehydrate and I also provided a mixture of scrambled egg and milled corn which the duckling ignored. This morning I added 1 tsp of honey and 1/4 of a teaspoon of salt to 1 liter of water to make an electrolyte solution. All seemed well until an hour ago when the duckling began peeping and constantly opening and closing its mouth. It's brooder is at 27 *c, so it is not overheated. I am not sure what else I can do. Please help.

Thank you for your help lovemy mallards, but it seems my duckling has miraculously recovered! I kept dipping my ducklings beak in water every 20 minutes and massaging its crop and it has slowly stopped opening its beak. It is fast asleep now, *touch wood* it won't happen again!
