What do you put in your water

I put APPLE CIDER VINEGAR in mine, Just wondering what others put in theres? Thanks

5- White Leghorns
3- Easter Eggers
5- Barred Rocks
4- French Wheaten Marans, 2 wonderful kids  and most importantly 1 wonderful wife

apple cider vinegar if not in galvinzed container.

sometimes garlic for immune support!

just for the first week I put in pedi-la-ite, and if i have a sick chick or hen in the M.A.S.H. coop (what we call the chicken hospital) i add some then as well.

I used to put ACV in my water every time I filled the waterer.  However, I read several comments about people being "wary" of ACV.  Unfortunately, I haven't seen any reasons why. 

Anyone know?

Will the apple cider vinegar eat away the galvanized waterer?

A whole bunch of chickens, 7 Horses, 4 Dogs, a 2 year old daughter, a 7 month old son, and 1 amazing wife.

I have used a teaspoon of ACV in a gal. of water for my ladies since they hatched and have no problems ,but I do use
a large plastic waterer.

Yes, the acid in the vinegar reacts with the metal. big_smile

Red Cell, Apple Cider Vineger (with Mother), garlic, vitamin & electrolyte mix - but never all at the same time!  th

smile

Oh and I use plastic waterers.
