This is an empty chicken cage that I have. I have two pigeons that I am keeping in this cage. How should I set up the cage perfectly for them. Right now they have two bowls in the cage, one for water and other for food. I'm only feeding them wheat grains and some breadcrumbs. What proper feed should I feed them? Should I use any floor covering like soil? I have lots of soil to spread on the floor of the cage.what else should I do to take god care of my pigeons apart from giving them food and water? They can't fly because I think their wings were intentionally damaged. Should I let them roam free in a room for some time everyday?

This is pigeon feed (I am unable to obtain this) I personally I feed chicken layer pellets and whole corn in separate feeders.

In my loft I do not bother with any bedding. I find as my pigeons fly from on area to another the bedding migrates to the outer perimeter of the structure leaving the floor exposed.
Instead I have 3 tarps that I interchange when necessary.
Leave the soiled tarp in the sun for the poop to bake and harden and it just flakes off when I drag the back side of my garden rake over it. Fold the tarp in half and then just pour it into my compost bin.

In my nest boxes I fold a feed bag to fit. When a bag gets soiled; fold a new one; pop out the soiled; pop in the new. Feed bags are a nylon mesh bag.
Frozen poop just peels off in below freezing temperatures and just flakes off in summer when left out in the sun to bake and dry.

I have 65 trips around the sun it is the best method I have stumbled upon.

Make sure the twine is removed from the open end of the bag it can get tangled around your birds.

I use a 10" dog bowl for pigeon nest filled with pine needles or wood shavings.

Easy Peasy.
Should I let them roam free in a room for some time everyday? Sounds like a good idea.

You can feed layer pellets/crumbles, scratch grains (usually corn wheat n peas etc sometimes lot more hopefully), wheat and corn, wild bird seed, pigeon pellets, or budgie/parakeet feed. Some mix layer with scratch half and half mixed in breeding n winter especially, n feed wild bird seed only for fly and training birds. I find as many ingredients in available wild bird seed and scratch grain then mix them together with fourth layer pellets (how showers do when can't get pigeon pellets). This year poop horrible from only using mostly layer as feed. Any pelleted type feed or corn based feed you feed will make them drink lot more water and make messier poop so you know n don't worry. If your birds not pinioned where tendon cut so cannot fly, and bones not broken n healed wrong, straight layer may help repair damage to build strong bones muscles n feathers, as first thing I give when get rescues that have to set fresh broken or reset healed wrong broken bones, etc.. as always fast heals stronger bones n feathers n reverses malnutrition n helps injured n sick birds recover faster, thouh too rich for most of time dragging fliers down when fed too much (fastest longest best fliers will be on good wild bird seed n great scratch grains together, if you decide to get into competition rollers or racers.
