Burst of cold in NJ - could it be the cause? She will not move. wont eat or drink. she is alert. labored breathing like a child with a cold. small amount liquid coming out of beak like a runny nose. Brought her in the house until I can figure it out. she let me pick her up and carry her no problem. No injury I can see. She is one of four - the others are just fine. Suggestions?

Sounds like maybe respiratory best start her on an oral antibiotic. Baytril or Tylan or Oxytetracycline what ever you can get but I'd get her started ASAP.

Keep her warm but not overly and make sure you gradually get her back outside don't put her right out and leave her there after being inside. It would def be best to keep her inside while she is showing symptoms. In mean time till you can get antibiotics put 1-2 tab. of ACV into her drinking water deep enough she can wash her eyes and nares out too. Then once you start her on antibiotics stop the ACV. @alycececelia

Thank you. Unfortunately whatever it was took less than a day to take her down. U of penn and our large animal vet think fungal infection which they said is fast acting. But really we will never know. The antibiotics are good to know tho. Can we buy otc? May do good to have some on hand. Our hearts are broke right now. Im just glad I had brought her in made her comfy. By 6 pm she was gone.

@alycececelia I am so sorry. It seems they can go on for days and weeks sick and not show signs till right at the end. Which makes it double heartbreaking if we could just have known sooner.

Keep a real close eye on the rest just in case it's something that could pass on to the others or did the vet or U Penn say? Or should the others be treated just in case/ maybe something you want to ask..I know Tylan50-200 and Oxytetracycline can be bought OTC and Baytril can be bought on line @casportpony has details on where.

Vet may have them also.
