Awesome ideas, all. I particularly like the light bulb/cinder block idea.

Rubber feed tub from tractor supply.
I LOVE elevate dog bowl idea! I've done the trough & now using a cheap plastic dog bowl which for this batch of girls is working out fine.
Only had 4 so used that trough minus the lid (TSC), secured to a 2x4 (height). Yup they ate by chopsticks.
The Wynadottes (5) I have now are "lady" like, don't walk in their FF so the dog bowl works fine. Now & then I'll hang an apple or pear for them to snack on. Got them at 7mos, shocked they don't like Freeze Dried Mealworms! They'll eat around the MW. Have had them for couple months now & still can't get them to eat the MW. They love boiled eggs & not scrambled
I've used those for several years, but the fermented feed gets dirty because they pullets jump into it and the hens kick dirt in as well. I also wonder if the sides are too high? I've tried using an old plate, but then the dirt gets kicked in... time to think outside the box!X2 - I use several rubber bowls of varying sizes from TSC. They're easy to crack frozen feed out of, if needed, and rinse out well.
Oh my!!! The chopstick feeding is wonderful!I LOVE elevate dog bowl idea! I've done the trough & now using a cheap plastic dog bowl which for this batch of girls is working out fine.
