First turkey eggs

I dunno they are probably sitting on the chicks if they were hatched, I also have to watch my Tom he likes to eat eggs, that is why I remove and incubate.
Will mom let you take a peek? Maybe you could put some corn down so you can sneak a peek.

Thanks I separated the Tom from the hens just to be sure...

He got quite an attitude, tried to beat me up with his wings and peck my legs. I quickly reminded him that I'm the big bird around here -:lol The force is strong with this one. I chose him as a breeder because he was the dominant one.

Ouch but prob not a bad idea till the chicks get here and get strong.

Hens are still sitting tight but i have not seen any chicks yet... I tried to get a close look but one of the hens took a chunk of flesh off the top of my hand. Turkey hens peck way harder that Chicken hens. They won't even come off the nest for cracked corn anymore either. I separated the Tom from the hens about two weeks ago.

I find my turkey hens behavior really odd. They move their eggs around a lot. I mean several feet from where they started out. Also i find broken eggs in the furthest corners of the turkey yard from where they are sitting. It's almost like they are disgarding bad eggs or something. How in the heck they get the eggs 16' away into the corners of the turkey yard is beyond me, it's not like they have thumbs and can carry them.

I have to trust their natural born instincts are better than my understanding.

The hens will remove bad eggs from the nest. They pick them up with their beaks and carry them away.

Pretty sure there is at least on turkey chick now - I heard the high pitched "weep weep weep" sound of a baby turkey this morning while sitting one the porch. It could have been from a wild turkey also though, we have lots of wild turkey around here.

My hens tell me when their eggs are hatching or have hatched. When I approach the nest the hens are quiet if they are just sitting on eggs. If they have newly hatched poults under them, they start talking to the poults as I approach the nest.
