Hi, my 1 year old Orpington was a feed store chick I bought on a whim last year, vaccinated for Mareck's, healthy until a week ago when she was limping a bit. Seemed to almost recover a couple days until she was found on her side, unable to stand at all. She has labored breathing, but otherwise is alert and seems normal. Put her in a bird cage to recover and she is eating & drinking a bit, but can't stand. She has been occasionally flapping her wings to move positions. I'm worried this is the end for Queen Orpington. :-( She is fed layer pellets, scratch, table veggie/fruit scraps, free choice egg shell/oyster shell, some dried grubs on occasion. We put apple cider vinegar and probiotics in their water occasionally. I dosed her water with avian vitamin drops & probiotics. None of the other 17 birds I have seen ill. Any other ideas? Help!
