In the pullet batch we started getting a small green egg, when they were only 5 months old! Installed some nest boxes and the sneaky little girl presented me with an egg an hour later! The others were super nosy about the new nests. I used stackable bins from Lowes, $8.98 each. Screwed them in for stability. She picked the bottom one.

The new layer is the cream/red one at bottom left. She was very intrigued and hopped right on in! She's an EE, so I was surprised by her being the first to start! She may be crossed though, I got the eggs from a mixed flock.

So far all of mine have done green or olive eggs (the ones crossed with a brown layer are putting out the Olive eggs).

For Blue eggs I have the Legbars. I had some at our last house and they were blue egg making machines!

Cool! No need to dye Easter eggs when the hens do it for you
