.....I am Nuts!
Appleyards are beautiful and the calls are too, although i have heard that they are really difficult, so i wish you lots of luck with that! At least with the chicken mama you should be able to breathe a little. We had a badger attack a few weeks ago and lost two of our chickens - we are in the middle of organising new fencing - we lifted the eggs and popped them into a very basic - but so far so good - incubator. If i survive the weekend, it will be lockdown on Tuesday which would be day 18. We put them in with our fingers crossed that some might be babies of the two we lost. It was a wing and a prayer really, but so far so good. Somehow, i feel less worried about them - probably because i have been focusing on my duck babies and have been a little obsessive. Do you sell your chicks then, or it the bounty for pure pleasure? I don't know how you sleep. I have been dreaming about hatching chicks/ducklings for weeks and can think of little else i am so excited/nervous/anxious etc etc lol!

Two of the babies hatched last night and the other, was unfortunately dead and a bit messy inside. Thank you very much for all of your help and support. I think they are runners, but haven't been able to tell yet. Thank you and will update with more pics soon xx

Well we will take your word for all you posted just now but we also have to have pics of the cute lil ones. lolSo, Willow and Fern seem to be thriving and are enjoying lots of cuddles. They have doubled in size and then some!! They are beginning to walk a little more steadily, but quite often run, then juke down and then tear off again like little torpedoes! They seem bright eyes and happy, so I am over the moon! The duckling adventure is very new to us, but I have been reading lots of the threads which have been so helpful. Thank you for the prompt on the raising and caring sticky; I will definitely have a look! The people on the site have been incredibly generous with their time and knowledge and I have already learned lots, but more to learn!!
