Crossed Beak :-(

We've decided to cull our crossbeak pullet

I plan on hatching chicks from these girls this spring and don't want those genetics being passed down.
I think she'd probably be fine, it's not severe and so far she's doing really well at almost 4 weeks old, but it's just not something I want in my flock.

Its too bad, i wish i was close enough to take her. Its not always genetic. My crossbeak is my favorite chicken EVER. I love how she has overcome her disability and is the roundest/heartiest hen out there. She is an inspiration and a book should be written about her

I have one chick who is about 6-8 weeks old and just noticed a very light crossedbeak.
Will this get worse with age? If I trim it will it make it stop or will it keep crossing.

Thank you!

I have a 2 week old Golden Polish chick who has already developed a pronounced cross beak. This is my first time having chickens so I have been searching this site for ideas. She rocks at food all day only to have an empty crop. So I made a mixture of her feed and water and add a little mashed potatoes which she loves. Found out the potatoes gave her a little diarrhea so I will keep that as a small treat only. Today I tried feeding her baby food through a syringe. It took a long time but her crop got full and she was finally able to sleep with a full tummy.
It's so sad to see her struggle to eat, the crumbles just fall right off her beak if she even is able to pick anything up. She is able to drink fine so that's good. Any other suggestions?
