I'm dealing with a rabbit that is not himself these days. I"m not sure what's going on with him. He is not eating and drinking too much. Could be wool block, so I treated him for that. He is not grooming as before and his coat doesn't look good. I've been searching for a rabbit groomer in my area but I can't find one. I had to bathe him and will probably shave some of his matted fur. He's kinda old, so I don't know if it's old age or not. I will have to bring him to the vet if he doesn't perk up. I hope my boy makes it. sad.png

I had a turkey hen that had been setting on eggs and it looks like she decided to get up to stretch her legs and some of the males were overly aggressive with her when they spotted her and damaged her leg because she can't get up. I have her in a chain link dog kennel with her food and water right by her. It looks like it will be a long recovery. So that is another patient that I am trying to nurse. I put her egg (she has already hatched 4 turkey poults and had 1 left) under another broody turkey hen and that egg is scheduled to hatch this weekend. I scrambled some eggs for her and she gobbled that up, so she is eating. I hope she will be ok.

The turkey eggs in the incubator should be hatching in the next couple days. I followed the instructions as far as what to do 2 days before the hatch. Hopefully, they will hatch. If not, then oh well. I'll stick to the old fashioned way of hatching.

The geese are laying all over and a couple have gone broody. I will probably steal a few newly laid goose eggs and practice in the incubator when the turkey eggs hatch.

I have 4 ducks that are broody but they don't know that they are setting on turkey and goose eggs. I"m noticing that the ducks are laying all over the place. All I have to do is walk around and pick up duck eggs. It's like an Easter Egg Hunt. hmm.png

Have a good day ya'll!

Yeeee off in there with ya Julie. Ducks are rampant but gonna eat good this year wink.png  Dont give up on the bator yet its called control broody  lau.gif
Hey on the red light they have that red color clear wrap at the get that store you can cover any light with  smile.png
Just a pennies info  gig.gif

I hear ya on the incubator Mike but after a lot of thinking and careful consideration, I am sad to report that I am adding incubators to the silkie/show girl list. I am NOT a big fan. Incubators are over-rated. hide.gif It's just not my cup of tea.

I think over the years, my mind has been trained to only expect babies during this time of the year and after the babies are all grown, that's a wrap. So, I have never got the "fever" to have new babies after that. I already have too many animals in the first place. That means that I would have to start baby sitting, cleaning running noses and dirty butts ALL over again. I will leave the incubating up to the professionals - - - - > ya'll. hide.gif

What's going on with your turkeys Mike? That's odd that they haven't started laying yet. I got turkey eggs all over the place . I even have ducks sitting on turkey eggs. lau.gif My last turkey hen has decided to go broody but she stole some goose eggs. It's a mad house over at my place.
