Baby chicks pecking at each other

It seems your biggest concern is the cold nights in the 30s if the baby chicks move to the barn. With the heating pad system, they will be fine. I raised two batches of chicks under the heating pad and they did splendidly when the nights were in the 30s and the days weren't over 50F.

To prepare them for the move, however, it would be good to lower the room temp in the house where you have them so they can acclimate to cooler ambient temps, then move them to the barn. That way you won't need to worry.
